Warning: not for the faint of heart! Climbing 6% grades up to the 2nd oldest National Park is well worth the effort, where you will finally get to see the world's largest (by volume) and 2nd largest trees! There's also a special unrehearsed appearance by a large, furry animal and several tiny ones. Kings Canyon is equally awesome with exceptionally twisted cliff hugging roads offering panoramic views around every bend. Rust and tan colored boulders in the foreground are accentuated by spiked yucca plants. Eventually you will reach the bottom where the journey takes you up along the whitewater rapids of the King River
